What do you have planned for Canada Day 2015? 

As we sing happy birthday to our country which turns 148 on July 1st, we all gather with our families to celebrate in many ways ; looking at fireworks, hosting BBQ's and parties or attending various celebrations hosted by the city. Maybe you would love to do something to celebrate during the day in addition to looking at the fireworks when the sun sets, here is a rundown of what’s happening across the city:

Do you love fireworks? There is a spot in the city that appeals to your senses, take your pick.

 

  • Amesbury Park

When - 9:45 p.m.

 

  • Canada’s Wonderland

When - 10 p.m.

 

  • Centennial Park

When -  After dusk

 

  • Downsview Park

When - 10 to 10:30 p.m.

 

  • Mel Lastman Square

When - 10:15 p.m.

 

  • Mississauga Celebration Square

When - At dusk

 

  • Port Credit Memorial Park

When - After dusk

 

  • Stan Wadlow Park

When - 10:15 p.m.

 

  • Woodbine Park

When - 10:30 p.m.

 

All Day Activities

Grab the kids, pack a basket with some snacks, drinks and toys and hop on the train for an eventful day with the family. Or maybe you just want to take a break from the everyday snack packing routine, grab the kids and hop on the train for I can assure you wherever you do decide to go there would be enough activities to keep the kids occupied and enough food to fill them up.

 

  • Event - East York Canada Day Parade

Where - starts from the East York Town Centre, travelling along Thorncliffe Park, Overlea Blvd., Millwood Rd., Pape Ave., Cosburn Ave., Coxwell Ave., Sammon Ave., Woodbine Ave. and dispersing at Woodbine and Ventor Avenues.

When - 9:30 am to 11 am

 

  • Event - Celebrate Canada's 148th birthday with a fun-filled evening of live music and dance performances, family activities and a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music.

Where - Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge Street

When - 5 to 10:30 pm


 

  • Event - Q107 Canada Day Picnic - music festival, fun and food

Where - Woodbine Park

When - all day

 

  • Event - Celebrate Canada Day by taking part in a rocket-making workshop, listening to Canadian beatbox champion Scott Jackson , enjoying face painting, crafts, rides and much more.

Where  - Queen’s Park

When - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

  • Event - Canada Day Celebrations - activities for all ages along with information displays for agencies within the community, not to mention food.

Where - Riverdale Park/East Chinatown

When - 12 noon to 5 pm

 

  • Event - Canada Day Celebrations with the opening of the Community Booths, entertainment on the main stage followed by an evening of fireworks.

Where - Stan Wadlow Park

When - 12 noon to 10:30 pm


 

  • Event - Toronto Ribfest -  live music, a children’s show at noon, ribs galore!

Where - Centennial Park

When - 11am to 11pm


Start making plans - do you want to spend the day enjoying the various planned activities followed by relaxing under the firework lit skies? Or do you want to choose one, whatever you decide and whichever event you choose to attend you are certainly going to have a rocking Canada Day!
